Dealing with death and its multitudinous ramifications is not well-handled in most medical schools. This video is helpful thus for physicians, as well as for other healthcare workers in understanding the issues and dealing with them appropriately. It deserves wide recognition. Byron D. Roseman, MD FAAP
"Like Rembrandt Draperies
is a beautiful portrayal of a life well lived, and a disease well-fought.
It is both inspiring and informative. I highly recommend it." Lynn P. Cusick, LMSW "The Wise Woman approach
is beautifully evoked in this loving video. I would recommend it to anyone
involved in dealing with a terminal diagnosis personally or professionally." Susun S. Weed "The film is at once
heart-wrenching and inspiring. Witnessing Cathys life through the
film resulted in much discussion: not only about how to die consciously
but, perhaps more importantly, how to live consciously. Addressing end
life issues in a classroom setting is challenging for many reasons. Having
a tool such as "Rembrandts Draperies" helps bring down
the barriers to open discussion. I highly recommend it as a teaching tool." Kim H. Miller, Ph.D., CHES "It is so very important
that we always 'listen' to what patients are telling us. What greater
teaching tool than to see the impact of care providers' attention to patient
needs and personal concerns." Linda H. Linville. Ph.D. "I highly recommend
that this documentary be part of the training program for Hospice Volunteers
and also Hospice patients and families who are so inclined to honor their
loved ones in this way." Linda C. O'Brien 3 star rating of excellence
on the EPERC website. "Accepted material on this website reflects
the most current knowledge in the field of end of life medicine and is
consistent with established criteria for educational curriculum, assessment,
and/or evaluation." Medical College of Wisconsin |
