Since the mid seventies I have been photographing, starting with black and white film and hours passed in the magical darkroom. I loved it then and I love it still.

I've never been one to take a lot of pictures. Often I travel without a camera, preferring to be unburdened by the physical responsibility/risk but more, because I know that when I am looking at where I am through my photographer's eye I am not simply present to where I am. I have foregone photographing often in exchange for the direct, deep experience of being exactly where I am.

When I do have my camera with me and use it, I normally take the picture I want once. I see it, I compose it, I get it, I'm done. What I've realized I love more than anything about my photos is how I see. I find my way of enjoying and celebrating color, form, shadow, subject and composition– delicious. I hope you will too!
